Described by the locals as “the best place on earth” the tiny island of Norfolk Island in the South Pacific is defined by its pine trees, jagged cliffs and rich history. With its World Heritage listed buildings, sublime scenery, unique culture and intriguing past make Norfolk Island one of Australia’s most fascinating destinations.
Settled by descendants of mutineers who speak a mix of Tahitian and 18th century English, it’s a friendly place where waving to everyone you pass is mandatory, cows have right of way and everyone knows everyone else. It’s the only place in the world where the telephone book lists people under their nicknames, such as Book and Bing, Diddles, Pinky, Spud, Lettuce Leaf and Slugs.
Of course with so much to see and do you need to look at our full itinerary to see all the amazing things we will be doing, but one of the many highlights is a progressive dinner where we travel with our local guide as they take us to the homes of some of the locals providing a different course in each of their homes.

Wow … where do we start with what’s included in this tour! Central Australia is a vast ancient area of semi desert, grasslands, mountain ranges and spinifex slopes, the magnificent reds of soils and rock formations, amazing watering holes and the lush surrounds all divided down the middle by the Stuart Highway. It is at the heart of our continent and has been of great interest to visitors since the first European explorers, Charles Sturt and John McDouall Stuart, made their way through this spectacular part of our country.
Our tour sees us departing from Melbourne in one of our luxury coaches and concludes with us flying out of Alice Springs to return home.
What an amazing way to explore so much of our beautiful lands, with so many ‘postcard’ photo stops including destinations like Port Augusta, Woomera, Coober Pedy, Yulara, Uluru, the Olgas, Curtin Springs before arriving in Alice Springs. The adventure continues north with visits to Simpsons Gap, Western MacDonnell Ranges, just to mention a few.
This is certainly a tour that will provide life-long memories … with too much to mention we recommend you look at the full itinerary to see all the inclusions, and get your booking in early to avoid disappointment.

Broken Hill is the famous and fascinating mining town in remote western New South Wales. Beyond the Darling River in remote western New South Wales is the iconic and legendary mining town of Broken Hill. Dominating this town is the “Line of Lode” – the seven kilometre strip of what was the biggest deposit of silver, lead and zinc in the world. Unlike modern mining towns, where the accommodation is built well away from the mine activities, Broken Hill’s population, in the pick and shovel days, built their houses as close as they could to their work.
No trip to Broken Hill would be complete without a visit to the Pro Hart Gallery, and the famous Palace Hotel where scenes from Priscilla Queen of the Desert were filmed.
Often spoken about but seen by few, this is your chance to visit Mungo National Park … the park is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Wilandra Lakes Region. Mungo National Park is where the remains of Mungo Man, the oldest human remains were found in Australia.
Whilst in this part of the world we will also spend time visiting some fabulous destinations in Mildura, including Orange World, as well as the cultural precinct of Mildura, including the 1891 built Rio Vista home and the Mildura Arts Centre and Historical Museum. Our time in Mildura would not be complete without a paddlesteamer trip down the mighty Murray.

Within the Park are special gorges, cool waterholes and towering peaks. The colours, the vastness, the stories and the wildlife will have you agree this is indeed a special place, and a ‘must see’ adventure.
We will visit the famous outback Parachilna Pub for a lunch you will remember forever, before heading south to join the iconic Pichi Richi Railway. Kangaroo Island lies off the coast of South Australia, south west of Adelaide and is often been described as a “zoo without fences”. There is an unmistakable sanctity about the island with its raw and rugged coastline, impeccably clear waters, natural wonders and wildlife. Over one third of Kangaroo Island is protected in nature reserves and although impacted by the 2020 fires it is still home to an array of native wildlife.
