No place better to be in August than the splendid coastal region of Hervey Bay and the spectacular Fraser Island. Just 3 hours north of Brisbane, Hervey Bay is a natural bay that sits between the mainland and the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. It is renowned for its visiting humpback whales, and we will enjoy an up close whale watching experience of these magnificent mammals. Our tour will also have us visit Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island it truly is a place of exceptional beauty. Whilst on the island we enjoy a 4WD tour and explore the white sandy beaches, freshwater lakes, lush rainforests and the famous Maheno Shipwreck. Our journey back to Brisbane will see us pass through the historic town of Maryborough, with over 37 murals it is one of Australia’s most notable mural cities.
