WEDNESDAY 17 – MONDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2025

No better, or prettier time to visit Canberra than in the Spring when the city bursts with the colours of Floriade. The idea of Floriade was that of Christiaan Slotemaker de Bruine who was a landscape architect for the government, and wanted to do something magnificent to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Canberra in 1988. The Floriade display is the largest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere with over 150,000 annuals including 65,000 tulips and 20,000 daffodils. Continuing with the floral theme we venture just out of Canberra to Tulip Top Gardens in Sutton, this family run gardens will be sure to please with it’s beautifully manicured gardens featuring tulips and blossom.

We will visit Cockington Gardens, a delightful and fascinating display of miniature buildings and gardens from around the world. No trip to Canberra would be complete without a visit to both the old and the new Parliament Houses, the National Museum, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery and the Australian War Memorial for the Last Post Ceremony.

To cap off this amazing tour we also partake in a truly unique experience, a cruise on Lake Burley Griffith and a guided tour of the gardens of Government House.
