The Blue Lake is just one of many jewels in the crown of Mount Gambier and the surrounds. Mt Gambier is a city unique in its ancient landscape of volcanic craters, lakes, limestone and mysterious underground waterways. Supporting a population of around 24,000, it is the regional centre of the South Australian Limestone Coast. From “the Mount” we explore picturesque towns like Penola taking in the Saint Mary MacKilop Centre and surrounding heritage areas, the rugged coastlines and townships of Robe and Beachport, and the renowned wine growing region of the Coonawarra.
